Smartron released its next product the tphone, a smartphone which is designed and engineered in India with a focus to be part of the ‘Make In India‘ initiative. In the presence of Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao, Sachin Tendulkar launched the Smartron tphone. Not only the manufacturing part but also there are more features which make tphone coalesce to the Make In India concept. Features which are carefully incorporated to match up for the Indian lifestyle.
The tphone is one of its kind to provide unlimited cloud storage using the tcloud which mainly aims at making Indians familiar . Even the phone colors bright orange, metallic pink, sea blue and classy grey symbolizes the rich Indian heritage and culture. The superior noise cancellation which is powered by 4-mic help us to speak and listen clear even in noisy surroundings. The 5.5 inch SUPER AMOLED display produces high quality display even under the scorching summer sun. The phone comes with the latest USB-C port which offers better data transfer and quick charging features.
Smartron tphone specs
- 5.5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 401 ppi pixel density.
- Gorilla Glass 3
- 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with octa-core CPU.
- Adreno 430 GPU.
- 4GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage.
- Dual SIM card.
- 13 MP primary camera, records 4K and 1080p videos
- 4MP front camera which is enhanced for ultra low light selfies.
- DTS Premium sounding speakers.
- 3000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0
Looking at the specs, the display could have been 2K display or atleast a better PPI. But the super AMOLED technology loosens the tension in the air. Personally, the AMOLED displays are really sharp and the image rendering quality is amazing when compared to normal LCD and LEDs. The processor on the other hand is quite new and must say tphone has utilized the 4K recording capability of the processor and also offers better gaming, graphical experience by combining the Adreno 430 GPU. The front camera is 4MP but less to worry as it is having large 2µm pixel size which ensures better quality images even in low light conditions.
Well, what is important that tphone lacks according to me? The Smartron tphone lacks fingerprint sensor which is a big negative point over the device. Even the budget friendly android smartphones comes with fingerprint scanners these days which ensures better security.
For a price tag of 22,999 the price in India of a phone which solely focuses on ‘Make In India’ initiative is bit high I must say. Especially considering the downsides like lack of fingerprint scanner, no 2K display, only 3000 mAh battery and the sensor quality of camera’s.
